During ITB Berlin 2012, the world’s leading travel trade show, HIH presented Health Cuisine to Ministries of Tourism as luxury Healthy Gastronomy book and Wellness Destinations Guide, yielding in endorsements from the Director of International Tourism Promotion from Indonesia of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (pictured left) as well as the Vice Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic with the President of the Caribbean Traveling Network and President Association of Eco Tourism & Culture (pictured right). Indonesia was represented at ITB Berlin 2012 for the 42nd time and is investing in the next ITB Berlin 2013 as official country partner. Apart from taking a bigger space to showcase more sellers, it will use culinary diplomacy to entice international buyers and the media. By diner invitation of the Indonesian Embassy in Germany at The Westin Grand in Berlin, HIH spoke with officials about ”Indonesia as top Health Cuisine destination”. Indonesia being the biggest archipelago country in the world, offers a great bio-diversity and equally diverse and healthy Gastronomy. It is rich with long history, cultures, natural attractions, heritage, fascinating geological formations and an established offering in luxury tourism from prestigious hotel, golf, spa, yacht to wedding and honeymoon packages. The campaign promoting “Wonderful Indonesia“ reflects the wide range of tourism products on offer, which in 2010 attracted seven million visitors to the country. Post ITB Berlin, HIH is working on similar endorsements for Health Cuisine from the Jordan Tourism Board, the Tourism Directory of Kashmir in India and the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) to establish partnerships in the promotion of healthy gastronomy and wellness destinations.

Health Cuisine by HIH was delighted to join internationally renowned experts in the judging panel of the Gulfood Awards 2012, which celebrates the people and companies behind the region’s exceptional food and drink industry. The Gulfood Awards have firmly established themselves as the region’s leading and most sought after accolade providing winners with an independent and prestigious endorsement of their achievements. By rewarding and celebrating excellence in twenty categories, the Awards aim to recognize and champion innovation, the highest levels of service, the very best standards as well as enhancing the region’s international reputation for excellent food and beverage products and services.

The 2012 Gulfood Awards were divided into eight categories and entries opened to products, services and initiatives launched in the Middle East since 1 March, 2011 and were judged by an international panel of independent industry experts. The 3 categories of particular interest to Hospitality in Health (HIH) were: “Best Environmental Sustainability Initiative”, “Best new health food or beverage ingredient” and “Best health education initiative”. Dubai World Trade Center has done a fantastic job organizing this event and promoting these much needed health & sustainability categories in the Middle East region.

In a public move to foster reader involvement, Health Cuisine launched a crowdsourcing campaign on awarded crowdfunding platform Symbid.com. Dutch-based Symbid enables local and foreign investors to become micro-owners of innovative start-ups and enterprises with special ideas. Incentivized by HIH with a free Special Edition of Health Cuisine once published, investors actively help reach the target for this culinary project through funds and word-of-mouth-marketing towards the publication of the book.

Health Cuisine is proud to announce a stellar start with two of the best Wellness Resorts & Chefs in Asia and Europe having joined Health Cuisine – the luxury cookbook & wellness destinations guide featuring 12 Chefs in 12 Destinations worldwide. Following the culinary journey to Executive Chef Pablo Montoro at SHA Wellness Clinic in the secluded hillside of Albir in Alicante, Spain in September 2011, the 2nd culinary journey brought Health Cuisine author Nico Dingemans and renowned photographer Jan Bartelsman to Thailand in October 2011, where they featured award-winning Spa Cuisine by Chef Paisarn Cheewinsiriwat at Chiva-Som International Health Resort, in addition to an extra feature of the world-class Chiva-Som Academy in Bangkok.
